Aren Diagio
Age: 17
Kin: Foi Diagio (younger brother)
City-state: Valaire
Occupation: Pries-in-training for Reave
Looks: Aren has always been average. He’s not short, tall, particularly strong or weak, ugly or beautiful. His skin is pale from sitting inside and reading. His hair is the same dark brown as Foi’s both shorter and not as messy. His eyes are dark green an observant. His features are reminiscent of Foi’s but not as fine or pretty. He’s easily forgettable in a crowd. It’s a curse and a gift and Aren doesn't spend time thinking about it. It’s what’s inside that matters to him.
Personality: Aren’s mind is always active and much of his behavior reflects that. He is first and foremost a thinker. He won’t be the first to act, but he’ll already have analyzed the situation. He wasn’t born with any particular talent. Though he enjoys reading and learning more than others even book learning doesnt come easier- or harder- to him. He just uses his mind more. Aren hates it about himself. He wishes he were quicker, brighter, better at remembering an understanding. For somene who thinks as much as he, intelligence is the pinnacle of importance and the thought that his mind is just as average as his body isn’t a comfortable one. Aren isn’t an airhead, he’s the opposite of his brother in that respect; he’s very down to earth. All that thinking and analyzing makes him a little cynical. He’s cautious about things and he worries, as he thinks of everything that could go wrong. He’s not, however, very sensitive. Probably because of his cynicism and caution, he doesn’t get very involved in a lot of things. Foi is the major exception. When Foi acts first and thinks later is Aren has no choice but to dive in after his little brother. Foi, he feels, is his responsibly and he doesn’t want anything to happen to him. Despite that all he tries not to remove himself too far. Aren cares. He’s a nice person, even if sometimes he can’t stop himself from being pessimistic.
Oddities: Aren had never been very priestly. He had only ever dealt with death in theories and had never bothered much with dreams. He was terrified that he would catch some disease and die or that he wouldn’t be able to complete the training. But he couldn’t leave Foi, and he couldn’t fail where his little brother didn’t. As time went on Aren felt more at home in the temple, he relaxed. It helped that Foi was so comfortable there as well.
Flair: none
History: Their father died when Aren and Foi were very young. Aren thinks he can still remember a face, but not much else. They had a hard time of it after that, it was hard for their mother to make enough money to support them when she could only work lower class women’s jobs. She wanted so much for Aren and Foi to become merchants or soldiers to command in the army. Aren was expecting to become a scholar or a scribe at the palace. When both his and Foi’s path took them to Reave’s temple their mother was disappointed. Coupled with her grief it put quite a strain on her. Their mother’s anger caused tension between them but brought the brothers closer. They comforted and supported each other. When Aren followed Foi to the temple it was for himself as well as to take care of his younger brother.

Foi Diagio
Trainee
![Picture](/uploads/1/7/9/6/17960521/310303.jpg?523)
Age: 15
Kin: Aren Diagio (older brother)
Looks: Foi is a small kid, slim-boned and soft-bodied, almost feminine in appearance. He's got a lot of thick, fluffy hair that always looks messy as if he's just woken up from a nightmare (he probably has). He's not very tall, but he's skinny and has sharp joints so it can look like he is from far away. Because he's not the outdoorsy type, he has pale skin, which contrasts with his dark brown, nearly black hair, and equally dark eyes. With long eyelashes, full lips, high cheekbones and a slender nose, some would say he has a pretty face, if it weren't marred by the fact that he never smiles. He always look troubled about something and afraid, as if any action he commits could break him. He's not very athletic, but he has fast reflexes, and he's flexible; like a cat, he can squeeze himself into most tight spaces to find a nice place to sleep.
Personality: Foi's a dreamer in every sense of the word. He's an artist; whether it be through playing the flute, painting fish, or carving wooden sculptures, he expresses his imaginations best through his creations. His talent would make him a good artisan, but he's too sensitive to deal with criticism, and too shy to venture into the world of business. Instead of helping him with reality, his art brings him further into the world of fantasy and ideals. His utopia is one that can never be possible, but he loves to ponder in it anyway. He isn't completely removed from reality, though; he has a strong love for living beings. Not any living being in particular, but just life in general. Plants, animals, people amaze him, and while he can't form and manage individual relationships well, he will still love a person simply because they exist. Foi is overwhelmingly curious. No mystery is too dark or unknown for him, and his hazy mind makes him jump into situations he doesn't know every detail of. Perhaps his dreams have to do with that; ever since he was little, he had strange and abstract nightmares, and his father's early death didn't help make those any better. He wanted to be a priest of Reave so he could learn how to control his dreams, but over time he fell in love with the priest lifestyle with its supernatural abilities and focus on service.
Oddities: Foi has always had sleep problems. The most common one was nightmares, of course, but he has had occasional bouts of sleeptalking and sleepwalking. When he was younger, he used to tie himself to the bed to make sure he wouldn't wander off in the night. Now the sleepwalking happens less, but he still carries a small length of rope in his pocket, just in case.
History: Foi's father died when he and his brother, Aren, were quite young. Their single mother had a hard time making enough money due to her social status and what little Foi's father left behind. Because of this, she often pushed Foi and Aren to take jobs that could earn a good keep, and became disappointed when they both turned to careers that wouldn't give much. Their mother's anger caused a lot of tension between her and her children, and as a result the brothers became rather close, turning to each other for advice and comfort.
