Sagerron Renoux
king
![Picture](/uploads/1/7/9/6/17960521/804988213.jpg?271)
Age: 48
Kin: Feng Renoux (son), Raven Renoux (daughter), Edmund Renoux (son), Lief Renoux (son)
Looks: He has dark hair, nearly black, dark blue eyes and the characteristic sharp Renoux features. He is a large man, tall with wide shoulder and built with muscle from endless training and exercise. He may be nearing fifty, but his exercise regiment is just as strict as it was when he was twenty.
Personality: Sagerron is a strong man, physically and mentally. He is endlessly stubborn and obstinate: once he has made up his mind, it is nearly impossible to get him to change it. He sets high standards and comes down hard on those who do not uphold them. By some, he is thought to be too harsh of king, that he should be more merciful and forgiving. He does what he thinks is best for Lytane, but sometimes uses methods many disagree with. He is not a bad king: the city and its people are not neglected, he had kept the peace within the city walls and without, and many people admire him, but not all.
History: Sagerron was the second son of the king and queen of Lytane. His older brother was the heir to the throne. Both sons were taught and trained to be great leaders, and there was not often conflict between the two. Sagerron did want the throne, but not enough to wish anything bad to happen to his older brother and he didn’t begrudge him being born first. When Sagerron turned eighteen, his parents threw him a great party and hosted a jousting tournament. Both Sagerron and his brother competed in it, and eventually all the other participants were eliminated besides the two brothers, who were both formidable warriors. Sagerron rode well. He had perfect timing and placement and struck the winning blow, but instead of his lance knocking his brother off his horse, it pierced his brother’s armor. He died almost immediately. Sagerron was convicted of treason and murder, but he was as devastated as anyone. However, examination of the lance Sagerron had used proved that it hadn’t been made in Lytane, and Sagerron had not been to Valaire in many years. The true murderer was found to be Sagerron’s squire, who gave him the deadly sharp lance instead of the dull one he should have used. The boy ran, but once he was found, he confessed, but he would not say why he had wanted Sagerron’s brother dead. He was executed as per law, and that was the end of the matter. Sagerron became heir and then king.

amaranth Renoux
Queen
![Picture](/uploads/1/7/9/6/17960521/876023141.jpg?316)
Age: 46
Kin: Feng Renoux (son), Raven Renoux (daughter), Edmund Renoux (son), Lief Renoux (son)
Looks: She has light brown hair and blue-grey eyes. She is not a very tall woman, shorter than all three of her sons. She is not as slim as her daughter, curvier and just a bit plump, but she still has a lady’s grace. She is pretty in a soft, girlish way without the sharp features that are common among the Renoux.
Personality: Amaranth is example people give their children when trying to teach them to behave properly. People who know her think it’s doubtful that ever in her life, she told a lie or stepped a toe out of line. She is softspoken and kind. She is the one whom the court goes to when it has questions concerning morality, and she is her husband’s closest advisor, though it may seem that she does not play a very large part in the politics of running Lytane.
Flair: She can tell by touching someone what it is that they most desire at that moment.
History: Amaranth was born a noble of Lytane. She knew from a young age that one day she would marry the prince and become his queen. Their marriage was arranged unusually early, as part of a business deal between her father, who owned a large amount of cropland to the south of the city, and the king. She met the prince just after she turned eighteen and was married less than a year later. Many simply expected her to become a trophy wife, but she and Sagerron grew close, and though when her children were small, much of her time was used to care for them, she began to take a larger role in government by advising her husband and sitting in on the meeting of the Small Council when she was able.

Feng Renoux
Crown Prince
![Picture](/uploads/1/7/9/6/17960521/689999760.jpg?499)
Age: 24
Kin: Raven Renoux (twin sister), Edmund Renoux (brother), Lief Renoux (brother)
Looks: Feng is the tallest of his siblings, though he is only taller than Edmund by the smallest bit. He has jet black hair that always seems like it needs a trim. Feng purposely keeps it long enough that it can fall over his eyes. His eyes are dark blue and perfectly clear, simply appearing as if he is always gazing at some far-off object. He shares the characteristic sharp features of all the Renoux, but is most similar in appearance to his twin sister. His skin is golden despite the limited amount of time he spends in the sun and perfectly clear of the scars and bruises his siblings often sport. Though Feng is tall, he is lean, nearly slim. He does his best to stay in shape but doesn't have the muscle mass of his siblings, trained in physical combat. Despite being blind, Feng is still fairly graceful, his movements refined and deliberate. Those who didn’t already know he was blind would not be able to guess from the way he carries himself.
Personality: Feng is noble and proud. He holds himself to high standards and expects the people around him to do similarly. He is often disappointed when acquaintances and friends act, in his eyes, shamefully. His cares much for his people; it is with them that his loyalties lie, not simply with the idea of the city. He would sacrifice much to protect the people of Lytane, and to protect his friends and family. Feng is unwaveringly loyal to those close to him, once they have proved themselves worthy of his trust. Though he is coldly objective when the situation calls for it and not give them allowances simply because they are his friends. He holds his friends to an even higher standard than the rest of the people of Lytane, and expects them to uphold it. Feng knows that most people will underestimate him because of his blindness and though he come to expect it, it still irritates him. He is constantly trying to prove that he is just as capable as any man. He has spent the time he would have otherwise spent running about outside, in the library. He is learned in many topics his siblings, and others his age, don’t know or care about and might consider dull or unimportant. He has made it his goal to become as formidable with his mind as his father and brothers are with a sword.
Oddities: Feng was born blind. He has never known what it is like to see through his own eyes. Because of his flair, he can sometimes catch glimpses of what the world looks like through the eyes of his siblings and closest friends. Because of his blindness, he never trained in martial arts or physical combat like his siblings. He relies upon his bodyguard for physical protection when the situation calls for it. Feng does his best to still stay in shape by swimming and running and other such exorcising that he can do on his own.
Flair: Telepathy. Feng can share and see the thoughts of other people, especially his twin sister Raven. The closer his relationship to the other person, the stronger the telepathic connection is the easier it is for him to speak to that person and to see their thoughts. He can also experience the world through other people, those that he is the closest with. He can see and hear and smell what they see, hear and smell.
History: History: Feng was born the second child of the king and queen of Lytane, only minutes after his twin sister took her first breath. He was named heir and crown prince of the city before he could speak and he grew up with the title hanging on his shoulder. If his parents had known what he was born that he was blind, things might have been different. They might have hushed it up, skipped him entirely and made their next born child the heir. Certainly Edmund would have been the perfect choice, healthy robust and charming as he was. Feng was always closest with his twin, who was looked down upon in society for being born a girl just as he was for being born blind. He always got along well with Edmund, their relationship more like friends than like siblings. Though Feng was closer to Lief than perhaps anyone outside their family besides his bodyguard, his relationship with his youngest brother was more formal than with the others. Their age difference along with Feng’s blindness meant that they spent the least amount of time together, had the least amount of common ground. As if to make up for it, Feng developed a close, almost brotherly relationship with his Kingsguard who was also his friend and assistant growing up, aiding him in any activity that his blindness required he have aid. When he was little, he begrudged every bit of aid he was forced to ask for. He took out his irritation on his assistants, preferring raven's help if it was necessary. But he long since realized that it wasn’t their fault, nor would getting angry about it help anything and he knows he could never have asked for a better Kingsguard than Bun.

Edmund Renoux
Prince
![Picture](/uploads/1/7/9/6/17960521/3733019.jpg?377)
Age: 23
Kin: Feng Renoux (Brother), Raven Renoux (Sister), Leif Renoux (Brother)
Looks: Edmund's tall. He's taller then both of his parents, and not a full centimeter shorter than Feng. His hair is cut shorter than his siblings', kept neat and trimmed and spiked up a little in the front. Storm gray-blue eyes, high cheekbones, dark hair... All features belonging to the Renoux family. Edmund is more physically built then his other siblings, having the traits his older siblings lack (Feng's lack of sight made physical prowess very difficult, and the weight and height that Raven would never have has only ever worked in Edmund's favor) and years of training that Leif has yet to accomplish. Edmund is also graceful in his own way. Not graceful like Feng, carrying the weight of the crown and still standing tall and moving smoothly, and not graceful like his sister who balances everything about herself. No, Edmund has the grace of a warrior.
Personality: Edmund is, always moving, always doing something, He cannot sit still for long periods of time. This doesn't mean that Edmund takes his lessons lightly; he is actually very dedicated. Edmund just gets restless. This prince is outgoing. He is possibly the most outgoing of all the siblings. He takes time to visit with the soldiers and spends time dressed in regular clothes in order to walk through the city. Sometimes he even invites Leif along on those trips. Edmund is proud, just like his siblings, a trait that they all take after their father. He has a drive, a want, to be better, faster, stronger, until he is the best. It causes difficultly sometimes between him and his siblings. Despite all of Edmund's rough edges, he does have strong gut feelings. He's not as sensitive as Leif to people's feelings and he's not always kind. Edmund is a military man, smarts geared toward tactics and strategies, but that's not all he is. Edmund's willingness to go out into the commoner's world is evidence of this.
Flair: Stamina. Edmund's flair is stamina. He can train harder and for more hours than his siblings because he doesn't get tired.
History: Edmund was born the third child in the royal family of Lytane. He was a happy, healthy, energetic baby. He could see where Feng couldn't and best of all he was a boy. His parents regretted naming Feng Crown Prince because Edmund seemed more capable to meet their standards just based on health, size, and appearance alone then their shy and blind older son. This attitude changed a bit when Feng started gaining confidence. Soon Feng was carrying himself better, acting more princely, and with Feng's growth people no longer looked at Edmund's "wasted potential" but at Feng's "possibilities". Edmund grew up playing outside and with weapons and horses. He took his necessary lessons indoors and played the part of the younger prince. Edmund knew he likely wouldn't inherit the throne and prided himself on his goal of being in charge of the military. So what if he wasn't to be king? Every king needed his advisers and Edmund knew more about fighting than anyone else their age. It was these thoughts that brought Edmund through his teenage years and encouraged his growth as a person.

Raven renoux
Princess
![Picture](/uploads/1/7/9/6/17960521/366189144.jpg?348)
Age: 24
Kin: Feng (twin), Edemund and Lief (brothers)
Looks: Though she is the oldest of her siblings Raven stands the shortest. She’s an average height for a woman, but that still puts her half a head shorter than her twin and even a smidgen shorter than little Lief. Raven shares the same pointed Renoux features and high cheekbones as the rest of her family but is most similar in appearance to Feng. On her the features look more refined and elegant, feminine. Her eyes are a darker blue than her siblings. They are more intense but the dark color hides details and expression. Her hair is dark as well, falling to mid-back in an inky curtain, shorter bangs framing her face. Her skin is the same golden tanned as Fengs, but more often than not covered in scratches and bruises from her practices fighting. She will never measure up to Edmund or many other trained fighters but she’s got fast reflexes and a good head. She has the theories down. She's on the skinny side and finds it harder to build muscle than her brother do, but she's worked at it enough to be fairly strong.
Personality: To the public Raven is nice, but distant. She cares for people, as a woman she knows what it’s like to be disrespected and she doesn’t want others to suffer that. In private, she’s not such a graceful figure. Raven is kind, she's "nice", but not especially gentle, and she can be temperamental. Raven is quick to anger, and holds a grudge. (Mostly against the patriarchal society that permeates everything about her life. One can see how that would get on a person’s nerves and run her raw) She’s also very impulsive, which can lead her to be quite scathing and rude, because she doesn’t think through her words sometimes. But Raven is never impatient. She is, to put it bluntly, pig-headedly stubborn. She’s incredibly ambitious and if she wants something, she will work and work, and wait and watch, until she sees the moment to take what she wants. It may take a while, but she’s always moving towards her goal. And what she wants, put simply, is the throne. She thinks she deserves it. As much as she loves Feng, she’s never given up the dream she had as a child, to rule in his place. Both Feng and Edmund were trained as heirs and it wasn’t hard for Raven to learn what they did. It tortured her to always be a step behind, but what she couldn't learn using her flair, she bullied out of them.
Ravens will power and impulsiveness do not mix well in her, or they mix too well. She’s not well suited for the proper role of a princess. She’s an expert at plots, but not silver tongued and subtle in person. In that aspect, she is more suited to be a military general than a political diplomat. Nevertheless, as the princess, it is expected of her to be sociable, and she’s never been an introvert. She’s developed her own, blunt, style of handling the political interactions. Raven was the oldest, but also she smallest, the only girl among three boys. Three princes. She learned early to stand up for herself. Raven hates not being taken seriously, for herself and for Feng who’s always been touchy about his lack of sight. His lack of site bugs Raven in a different way. She doesn’t usually mind helping him. What she minds is that even crippled, people still overlook her for him, when she’s the better heir. Raven is just as proud and fierce as any of her brothers, and she’s the eldest. Society scorns her for being a woman and her twin for being blind, even though they are the firstborns of the royal family. As she grows, contempt for that helps her shrug off the opinions of others, making her more reckless.
Oddities: Despite her temperament, Raven can be pretty cunning. When she’s making her plans she can be very sneaky. She’s spent time reading up on battle strategy, and beating all her friends at chess. She hates losing, so strategy was one of the first things she applied herself to learning, before fighting, or “princess crafts."
Flair: Telepathy. Raven can share and see the thoughts of other people, especially Feng. The closer their relationship, the easier it is. She can also experience the world through those people’s senses.
History: Raven was born first, and immediately put to the side. As a child, she threw tantrums. When she was older she refused to do anything but the lessons Feng was having. She learned strategy, and evilly moved out to practicing on the hours, fighting against her brothers. Eventually people started to tell her how unusual it was for a girl, especial a princess, to practice fighting. After a while she got tired of it. She went to her mother and demanded to know everything about how to make herself look like the perfect princes. She worked on dancing instead of fighting, she practiced walking in heals and doing her hair and makeup, and she perfected that polite little smile in front of a mirror. She made herself into a kind of rough balance, between the though, quick tempered “warrior” she was as a child, and the elegant diplomat she was supposed to be as an adult.
Feng is the person she feels most comfortable with. Even when they aren’t together they keep in telepathic contact. Raven is Feng’s eyes, literally. And he sees what she hides from the rest of the world. But emotionally they are drifting apart as Feng takes his position as the crown prince and Raven is shunted to the side. Raven knows that’s not his fault and she’ll ignore or hide that gap to stay by his side if that is what he needs. Raven has always been more of a people-person than Feng or Edmund. As the princess it was expected of her. She and Feng were close of course, but she was also close Lief. She had time for him when his older brothers didn’t. And she taught him plenty. She was never very close to Edmund. The knowledge that he was next in line to the throne caused tension between them. If Edmund were ever to succeed that would mean that she had lost her birthright, and worse, something had happened to Feng.
